Show Synopsis
The players at The Murder Mystery Playhouse are rehearsing a new show, Putting a Little English on It.  It’s a not-so-good attempt at a British murder mystery, complete with cheesy dramatic music and British accents.  As expected at the final dress rehearsal, the lights go out and a character dies onstage — only this murder wasn’t in the script!  The authorities are quickly called, and soon the company finds themselves replaying the death scene.  When yet another person dies at the end of the same scene, the cast finds themselves replaying the same scene over and over for other investigators, a theatre critic, and even the playwright himself!  But every time they get to the end of the scene, someone else ends up with a fire poker in the chest.  The actors are left scratching their heads at the strange circumstances and also worried that they could be next.  It all culminates in a wild surprise ending in which the actors must work together to defeat the murderer before he murders them all.
Rehearsal schedule:.
Sept 11- Read Through
Mondays and Wednesdays
4:30-6:00 pm
Performances are Nov 10-12
Public Ticket Sales will open in late October!

Who wouldn’t take it? As the trio swaps stories and Jamie considers the decisions he faces about his musical career and his future with his girlfriend Abby. the young couple begins to realize that this older man is unusually invested in their choices… and the reason he gives them is completely unbelievable. Tickets available now!!

Tickets are now on sale!!!  The Unbreakable Timmy Cratchit! There are people who are excited about Christmas, and then there’s Tiny Tim Cratchit – he’s never met a seasonal sweater he didn’t love. When he discovers his overworked parents could use some extra cheer this year, the oddball optimist drafts his skeptical sister Belinda into a last-minute quest to make enough money to buy the perfect gifts. The entitled customers, pushy elves, and ruthless carolers shopping on Christmas Eve are enough to test the most festive soul, but generosity comes from unlikely places in this galloping, joyful reversal of A Christmas Carol.

Spring 2022 Production…

The Music Man Kids!

The Music Man Kids!!

Second Act took their show on the road and performing The Music man Kids LIVE at the Las Lomas Spring Dinner and Dance on April 29th.

When smooth-talking con man Harold Hill arrives in a small, tight-knit town in Iowa, he expects to dupe its residents with his elaborate money making scheme: Despite his complete lack of musical literacy, he will convince everyone that he is a brilliant bandleader and recruit all the boys in town to form a band, pocketing the cash for instruments and uniforms. The problem? Some of the town members, especially the stern librarian, Marian Paroo, don’t quite buy Harold’s story. As Harold struggles to keep his scheme afloat, he also finds himself increasingly attached to the townspeople, who have all experienced a positive change since Harold came to town.  As All-American as apple pie and as charming as can be, The Music Man Kids was a crowd-pleasing success!

The Play That Goes Wrong!!

Announcing the cast list for Spamalot, Young @Part!!

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, this adaptation of MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs. The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight casts and audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.”

Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award–winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!

“An Improv Carol”

Second Act Productions  adapted the classic holiday story A Christmas Carol in this wildly entertaining holiday show!

Based on your suggestions, our improvisers retold Dickens’ tale of Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, and of course, Tiny Tim in all sorts of hilarious ways. Each night, a new version of this old favorite, combined this historic work with audience suggestions into a holiday improvised show.

Where does Scrooge work? What ails Tiny Tim? Does Scrooge even get reformed? With each night a new version of this old favorite, the audience and performers alike will have an uproarious adventure in the world of improv!
